About Me

My name is Erin. I am a member of cohort one. I went to FVTC. UWO has been fun thus far. I feel blessed to have met some of the outstanding people I have met because of the cohort.

My thoughts on technology... I think technology is a little bit to much. When I think of technology, computers and internet and iPhones and things like that come to mind. I know technology has help make great medical advances and changed peoples lives but it has also become invasive. I don't think there is privacy in peoples lives anymore. It has become so easy for others to find information on others. I believe that it is very exciting to be able to do the unbelievable things that the internet and technology offers today. I love to "play" on the internet but am very leery about sending out to much information about myself. It just scares me! I do not feel comfortable posting pictures of myself or my loved ones, giving out personal information, or getting into chat rooms and things like that. There are too many weird people out there. Even doing this - blogging - makes me very uncomfortable because I don't like sharing things with anyone unless I am comfortable with them and I am not comfortable with the fact that anyone can jump on here and take a look. I just don't think it is right.

Hey! It's good to see I can post here!! I completly agree with you about posting persosnal information out there for random people to read. It is just a strange feeling knowing that someone else can read about your life. But I do have to say, technology is so EXCITING!! All of the advances they are doing with technology just blows me away sometimes! It is so much fun getting to learn about all of it and have fun playing with it! You know me pretty well, and you know that I love having all of the new "gadgets" out there! The more you use the technology, the more comfortable you will be with it! I'll give you support if you need it!!

I really expected your site to be filled with all green!

Hi Erin,
I know what mean you about feeling a little uneasy about putting information on the internet.
Since, I grew up without any technology sometimes it overwhelms me. On the positive side the internet helps me to keep in touch with our children since they both live so far from us.
When our daughter and her husband went over to Costa Rica to do mission work it was our only communication with them. They would send pictures of the children from the mission and updates on what they were accomplishing. I saved every e-mail that they sent us. Someday, when they have a family, I want to share this with our grandchildren so they will know what special people their parents were when they were young.

Erin, It has been a long time. I can't remember if we had class together or not. I'm thinking we must have. Didn't we even graduate together, it's all coming back now! Technology....well I used to think I was pretty good with it until we got these assignments. I just wanted to pull my hair out! I thought technology was suppose to make our life easier but easier for whom? There's so much out there. And children younger and younger are going on and doing things that we probably don't even know how to do. I'm glad that Casey does not get on the computer a lot. She'll ocassionally play some game but she has to ask and we're usually in the same room with her. It's scary to think of all the trouble that could happen if you didn't monitor your child's use on the computer. I know you don't have children yet but you mentioned how weary you are to put information on about yourself. You're very smart for being so cautious! You never know what might happen. Better safe than sorry! It even crossed my mind when we were asked to put this information on as an assignment. I'm not really into it. And I'll bring a picture of Casey to class tomorrow to share with you! Take Care!

I also have a hard time putting personal information on-line. My thoughts are if someone wants to know things about me they will find it out, no matter how much I put on the web. I very worried about putting pictures on, because you her about all those weirdoes.
